The European Investment Bank (EIB) appears ready to provide advice to the government of Cyprus regarding the financing of the construction of natural gas liquefaction terminal, without ruling out the possibility of getting involved in the financing of the whole project.

Speaking after the signing of a loan agreement of €100 million between the government and EIB, the Vice-President of the Bank Mihai Tanasescu said that at a meeting with the Minister of Energy George Lakkotrypis he asked EIB to provide advice on how this project could be financed.
