Cyprus and Greece have signed an agreement today for co-operation in the Agrarian sector during the next two years. The agreement was signed by Cyprus agriculture Minister Costas Themistocleous and his Greek counterpart George Anomeritis, and consists of 35 sections. Basically this was a renewal of the agreement which has existed since 1991. Themistocleous underlined that the next two years will be a special period for Cyprus because of the accession talks and the experience of Greece in this sector is extremely valuable, as well as necessary. Anomeritis said he is certain that ways will soon be found for co-operation in the speedy adoption of measures that Cyprus is required to adopt under EU policy and law on agrarian matters.
