[01] Greek Cypriot soldier continues to be held illegally by pseudostate

According to illegal Bayrak radio (21.11.95), the pseudostate's so-called court has extended the remand order against Yeorghios Karotsakis for four more days. Karotsakis was abducted and is being illegally held by the occupation regime. According to Bayrak Karotskais will be "tried" when the investigation against him is concluded.

    [02] Rasit's letter to Commonwealth

According to KIBRIS (22.11.95) the so-called Foreign and Defence Minister of the pseudostate, Atay Ahmed Rasit, in a letter to the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Emeka Anyaoku, urged the organization to treat both communities equally.

He repeated known Turkish allegations and said that if the Commonwealth treats both sides equally this will help the reconciliation process on the island.

In his five-page letter Atay Ahmet Rasit said that the Cyprus problem was going through a critical stage.

[03] Turkish and Israeli firms win tender for the Holiday Village Complex

According to KIBRIS (22.11.95) a Turkish firm and an Israeli one got the tender invited by the occupation regime to complete and operate the holiday village at the occupied Vokolida village.

The companies that got the tender are RTA Toplu Konut Yapimciligi Ltd, in Turkey, whose owner is Taskin Akay, and M. A. Netanel Building Company and Public Work Ltd, in Israel.

KIBRIS says that both companies will be registered in the occupied area.

The companies agreed that they will complete the complex within three years and will operate it for 49 years. They also agreed to complete the infrastructure (i.e road, electricity, telephone and water works.)

The 640-bed capacity complex is being constructed on a 90 donum land. Construction of Vokolida Holiday village Complex had started in 1987 by a Turkish Contracting firm, ESKA, owned by Selim Edes. However, the construction work was interrupted when Selim Edes went bankrupt. KIBRIS reports that until now 3,5 million US dollars have been spent for the project and 10 more million are needed to complete it.
