    [01] Inflation rate in the occupied area

    KIBRIS (18.4.96) reports that the so-called State Planning Organization and the Civil Servants Trade Union (KTAMS) have published different figures as regards inflation in the occupied area.

    According to the so-called State Planning Organization the inflation rate for the period 11 December 1995 to 11 April 1996 is 22,94% while KTAMS claims it is 28.06%. (MY)

    [02] Catholic priest and nuns visit occupied Kormakitis and Kyrenia

    According to KIBRIS (18.4.96) 23 Catholic nuns and one priest serving in the free areas crossed into the occupied area and visited the enclaved at Kormakitis and Catholic churches in occupied Kyrenia. (MY)

    [03] British Professor to give seminar in the occupied area

    According to KIBRIS (18.4.96) Dr Chris Rumford of the University of London will give a seminar on "Europe's Social and Political Changes" at the so-called Lefka American University.

    The seminar is being organized within the framework of the European Integration Programme. (MY)
