    LUXEMBOURG - The huge cost of eliminating mad cow disease prevented European Union farm ministers agreeing a new farm prices package early on Thursday, Italian Agriculture Minister Michele Pinto said.

    LUXEMBOURG, Jun - Farm ministers pushed on Wednesday for the Commission to leave the 1996/97 sugar monthly storage refund unchanged, a Spanish official said.

    LUXEMBOURG - European Union farm ministers agreed on Wednesday a revised import regulation for sour cherries, over-ruling German reservations about the measure, an EU official told reporters.
