    BRUSSELS - United States action against European Union meat exports is unjustified on health grounds and highly regrettable, a European Commission spokesman said on Tuesday.

    BRUSSELS - New veterinary controls on European Union imports of about $50 million worth of poultry meat a year from the United States apply from today, European Commission agriculture spokesman Gerard Kiely said.
