The EU does not import live poultry or hatching eggs who could present as well a risk of transmission from Malaysia.[02] Rédiffusion de notes[03] Commission clears Fox Paine’s purchase of Parts of Advanta operationsThe European Commission has cleared, under the Merger Regulation, the proposed acquisition by US investment fund Fox Paine & Company of all of the business units of Dutch-based seed producer Advanta BV except its North- American maize, soybean and cereals business units. The acquisition does not pose any competition problems.[04] The European Commission has cleared the following mergers, all examined under a simplified review procedure for unproblematic cases:1. Acquisition by Swiss Re GB plc (UK), a subsidiary of Swiss Reinsurance Company (Swiss Re, Switzerland) of control of the whole of Life Assurance Holding Corporation Limited (LAHC, UK), by way of purchase of shares (notified on July 20). 4. Acquisition by Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Arabia) of joint control of Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. (Japan) by way of purchase of shares from Royal Dutch/ Shell Group (Shel, UK), which will also have joint control (notified on July 19). 5. Acquisition by Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. and Rossmann Beteiligungs GmbH of joint control of the German undertaking Dirk Rossmann GmbH, a company active in the retail sale of health and beauty products in Germany (notified on July 23). 6. Acquisition by Caterpillar Logistics Services (UK), which belongs to the Caterpillar group, of control of the whole of Xpart Ltd, a subsidiary of Phoenix Venture Holdings (UK). Xpart purchases and markets parts and accessories for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, in particular for MG Rover vehicles (notified on July 20). Â
