Three caretaker ministers were sworn in Monday to head the interior,
justice and press ministries until the April 9 general elections.
George Koumantos was sworn in as interior minister, Dimitris
Gourgourakis as justice minister, and Argyris Fatouros as press
minister, in the presence of President of the Republic Costis
Stephanopoulos.

Visiting Greek foreign minister George Papandreou and Russian
counterpart Igor Ivanov on Monday called for "strong action" on the
part of the international community for strict implementation of UN
Security Council resolution 1244 to confront the deteriorating
situation in Kosovo.
Papandreou, who arrived in Moscow on Sunday, met with Ivanov for
consultations that encompassed bilateral relations, the situation in
the Balkans with the focus on the troubled Yugoslav province of Kosovo,
and the Cyprus issue in light of the UN-brokered proximity talks due to
resume later this week.
