An oil slick was caused by fuel oil in the sea region of Ikonio,
Keratsini, near Patras, early Thursday during the unloading of the
Kayman Islands-flagged "Captain Spyros" freighter, Harbour Authority
sources said.
They said a private team immediately set up a double barrier and
commenced clean-up operations, supervised by the Harbour Corps.
No information was immediately available on the quantity of fuel oil
spilled or the freighter's cargo.
