[01] Weather Forecast: Light cloud on Sunday

Light cloud getting heavier over mainland Greece in the afternoon is forecast on Sunday, with showers or storms in the northern highlands. Winds northerly, moderate in the west, strong to very strong in east and gale force in parts of the Aegean. On the northern mainland, temperatures will range from 17C to 31C; on the rest of the mainland and Ionian from 19C to 34C; and in the islands from 22C to 30C. Light cloud in Athens building up in the afternoon, winds northerly moderate to very strong, with temperatures between 23C and 33C. Same in Thessaloniki, with light to moderate winds and temperatures from 21C to 31C.

[02] Balkan foreign ministers meet at Prespes festival

The volatile situation in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) dominated talks on Saturday between the foreign ministers of Greece, Albania, Bulgaria and FYROM in Florina, on the sidelines of the Prespes Festival.

After an informal meeting in this northern Greek city, the four ministers said that FYROM's territorial integrity had to be preserved and called for greater regional cooperation to defuse the crisis.

[03] Human skeleton found, possible link to missing terrorist

Following the discovery of a human skeleton embedded in concrete in the sea off Igoumenitsa, northwest Greece, police believe they may be on the trail of Bruno Breguet, the right hand man of notorious terrorist "Carlos the Jackal," who went missing in 1995.

The skeleton, which was discovered on Friday afternoon, was embedded in concrete up to its pelvis, while the rest of it had scattered.

It was transferred to Ioannina general hospital for a detailed examination by a team of coroners.

The Coast Guard, which is conducting a preliminary investigation, is also seriously considering the possibility that the skeleton may belong to an Albanian drug dealer, since the Albanian mafia is known to be active in the area.

[04] Last part of Greek contingent leaves for FYROM

The final section of a Greek contingent assigned to NATO's "Operation Essential Harvest" mission in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) departed for the Krivolak military base south of Skopje on Saturday.

Another 263 troops left from the 525 Motorised Battalion in Kilkis for FYROM, and the Greek force will be fully deployed and ready to go to work on the NATO mission on Sunday.

The 3,500 NATO troops in "Operation Essential Harvest" are to collect weapons laid down by Albanian rebels under a peace deal signed between the FYROM government and ethnic Albanian political leaders earlier in August.

In total, the Greek contingent numbers 411 men, all volunteers. It forms a comparatively large part of the total NATO force, to which only a handful of member-states have contributed, led by Britain.
