[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: marginal rise in thin trade

Equity pricesrose marginally at the opening of trading Monday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with lacklustre trade pushing the general share price index up a meagre 0.08 percent to 2,565.93 points at 11:15 am, while turnover was a low 3.0 million euros.

Individual sector indices were showing mixed performances without sharp increases or declines.

Of the stocks moved, 77 were up, 145 were down and 240 were unchanged.

Showers are forecast for most of the country on Monday, Christmas Eve, with snow falling in the mountainous regions and parts of northern Greece. Southerly winds, strong to gale force intensity, on the seas turning northerly as the day progresses. Temperatures between -3C to 8C in the north; 0C to 14C in the Ionian and the rest of the mainland; 5C to 17C on the islands.

Cloudy in Athens, 6C to 14C. Rain and a possibility of snow for Thessaloniki, 0C to 7C.
