[01] Greek inflation falls to 3.4 percent in February

Greek annual inflation fell to 3.4 percent in February compared with the same month last year, from 4.4 percent in January, National Statistics Service said on Friday.

The consumer price index dropped 1.1 percent in February from January.

[02] Greece, Turkey to commence exploratory contacts on March 12

Officials from Greece and Turkey will meet in Ankara on March 12 for the first meeting of ''exploratory talks'' between the two countriesaimed at ascertaining the points of convergence that will enable at a later stage the commencement of dialogue for the drafting of a compromissum to refer the delimitation of the Aegean continental shelf to the International Court of Justice at The Hague, Greece's foreign ministry spokesman announced on Friday.

The spokesman, Panos Beglitis, made the announcement at an extraordinary press briefing, while a written announcement on the same issue was issued simultaneously by the Turkish foreign ministry in Ankara.

Scattered cloud is forecast in all parts of the country, possibly turning to showers in parts of the Ionian and the mainland, especially from evening. Early morning visibility will be limited in some areas. Winds variable, moderate to very strong. In the north, temperatures will range from 7C to 18C; on the rest of the mainland from 9C to 23C; and in the islands from 14C to 22C. Light cloud in Athens with temperatures between 10C and 21C. Same in Thessaloniki with temperatures from 7C to 17C.
