[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: marginal gains

Equity prices were gaining marginally at the opening of trading Monday on the Athens Stock Exchange, in slow, lacklustre trade that hovered around closing levels for the previous week.

The general share price index was up 0.18 percent at 2,135.63 points, with turnover at 4.6 million euros.

The biggest gains in individual sector indices were in Television and Recreation, up 2.97 per cent, while the market index was mainly supported by small gains for Alpha Bank and National Bank of Greece stock.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.36 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.16 percent, and the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index was down 0.06 percent.

Of the stocks moved, 59 were up, 71 were down and 62 were unchanged.

[02] Weather Forecast: Scattered cloud, some rain on Monday

Scattered cloud is forecast in all parts of the country, with showers or isolated storms expected in the Ionian, western central mainland, Epirus, Thessaly, Macedonia and Thrace. Winds variable, moderate to strong, turning very strong in the Ionian. In the north, temperatures will range from 21C to 33C; on the rest of the mainland from 23C to 36C; and in the islands from 25C to 35C. Temperatures in Athens between 24C and 37C; and in Thessaloniki between 23C and 33C.
