[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: stocks moving down

Equities were moving down at the opening of trade Monday on the Athens Stock Exchange, with investors appearing nervous and hesitant after last week's downward slide for the bourse.

The general share price index was down 0.88 per cent at 11:30 a.m., standing at 2,127.46 points, and turnover was just 10.6 million euro.

Individual sector indices were moving down across the board, with the biggest losses in Publishing, down 1.79 per cent, Construction, down 1,66 per cent, and Wholesale, down 1.57 per cent.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down 0,83 per cent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.94 per cent, and the FTSE/ASE SmallCap 80 index was down 1.14 per cent.

Of the stocks moved, 59 were up, 184 were down, and 46 were unchanged.

[02] Weather Forecast: Cloud and rain on Monday

Cloud with rain and storms is forecast in the Ionian, Peloponnese, central mainland Greece, Thessaly, Epirus and Macedonia on Monday. Scattered cloud with the possibility of sporadic rain is forecast in the Cyclades and Crete. Partly cloudy weather is forecast for the rest of the country. Winds variable, light to moderate. On the northern mainland, temperatures will range from 14C to 26C; in the west from 17C to 27C and in the rest of the regions from 16C to 29C. Temperatures in Athens between 18C and 28C; and in Thessaloniki from 16C to 25C.
