[01] Premier Caramanlis, main opposition party leader congratulate Tony
Blair on re-election
Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis on Friday sent a letter to British
Prime Minister Tony Blair congratulating him on his re-election.
"On behalf of the Greek government, I would like to express my
sincerest congratulations on your re-election. I am certain that we
will continue to work together closely on a wide range of issues of
common, bilateral and European interest, as well as on international
issues," Karamanlis stated.
"I wish you every success in your duties," he concluded.
On his part, main opposition Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK)
President George Papandreou sent a telegram to British Prime Minister
Tony Blair, congratulating him on his party's election victory.
Papandreou wished Blair best wishes in his third consecutive term as
prime minister.
