[01] PM receives former US vice-president Gore in Athens
Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis on Wednesday received former US
vice-president Al Gore, ahead of their addresses at high-profile event
organised in the Greek capital on the environment.
No statements were made after the private discussion. The event is
organised by the Constantine Karamanlis Institute for Democracy.
A day earlier, during an address to the Athens Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (EBEA), Karamanlis said that reforms are a national issue and
a "development process that is advancing far from inflexibilities and
unrealistic ideas."
He also underlined once again the importance of creative dialogue for
the achievement of the government's reformist policy.
EBEA gave awards for the 12th consecutive year to a group of able
business people and firms who displayed remarkable business activity
during the past year. The ceremony for the "Business Awards 2007" took
place during an event held at the Athens Concert Hall-Megaron.
