[01] Archbishop undergoing liver transplant
Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens and All Greece was undergoing liver
transplant surgery on Monday in the United States, according to a
Church of Greece spokesman.
The transplant procedure commenced shortly after 2:00 a.m. (Greek time)
at the Transplant Centre in Miami, Florida, immediately after a
compatible kidney was found.
The Archbishop arrived in Miami on August 18 for the transplant.
The procedure is expected to last approximately 6 hours.
