    Macedonia-Thrace Minister Margaritis Tzimas on Thursday visited the monastic community of Mount Athos.

    He discussed with the monks matters concerning the projection of the historic significance of Mount Athos, the preservation of the monasteries, protection against wildfires and the natural environment.

    A delegation of monks handed over to Tzimas a memorandum on issues regarding the preservation of the mobile cultural and religious heritage of Mount Athos.
