[01] PM: "Greeks need not worry"
Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis will meet on Tuesday afternoon with
Economy and Finance Minister George Alogoskoufis. Karamanlis, after
the conclusion of the eurozone countries' extraordinary summit,
stressed that the Greek economy is withstanding the global crisis,
expressing this satisfaction over the summit's decisions.
''The Greek people need not worry" said Karamanlis, as the
repercussions of the crisis on Greece are limited and this is due to
last four years' economic policy, adding that the International
Monetary Fund (IMF), which is exceptionally severe and foresees zero
rates of development in the rest of Europe, predicts for Greece that
the development rate will be around 2 percent.
