    Equity prices were recovering at the opening of trade on Wednesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), influenced by the major international money markets, with the basic share price index up 10.47 percent, standing at 1,979.35 points at 10:45 a.m., and turnover at 45.3 million euros.

    Individual sector indices were moving upward across the board, with the biggest gains in Food & Beverage, up 16.74 percent; Construction, up 13.11 percent; Banks, up 11.24 percent; and Raw Materials, up 1.60 percent.

    The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 10.54 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 6.69 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 6.24 percent.

    Of the stocks moved, 147 were up, 2 were down, and 9 were unchanged.
