Equity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Friday on
the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), influenced by the international
money markets, with the basic share price index down 0.86 percent,
standing at 1,825.01 points at 12:25 p.m., and turnover at 39.8
million euros.
Individual sector indices were moving mostly downward, with the
biggest losses in Industrial Products, down 3.01 percent; Banks,
down 2.75 percent; and Raw Materials, down 1.94 percent.
The biggest gains were in Food & Beverage, up 1.33 percent;
Insurance, up 0.97 percent; and Public Utilities, up 0.93 percent.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was
down 1.33 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 1.14 percent,
and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.02 percent.
Of the stocks moved, 41 were up, 91 were down, and 51 were
unchanged.
