[01] PM meets honorary ND president C.MitsotakisPrime Minister Costas Karamanlis met on Tuesday with ruling New Democracy (ND) honorary president and former premier Costas Mitsotakis at the Maximos mansion (government headquarters).Mitsotakis noted after the meeting that the global economy, the entire world and Greece are facing major problems, stressing that "in this difficult hour, self restraint is imperative", He added that "we all must look at the problem with responsibility, and appraise the real situation, and not act outside the reality. "There must be a frank exchange of views and democratic dialogue, which has been lacking in our country," Mitsotakis continued. New Democracy has three years ahead of it to govern, and it is its duty to implement it's programme, which the Greek people have voted for, Mitsotakis said, adding that although the government has a slim majority in parliament, it was nevertheless a steadfast majority. "Everyone, the political parties and the representatives of the social groups must proceed as responsibly as possible. We must not sink or burn the country," stressed Mitsotakis. [02] Police bus shot in AthensA police bus with a squad on board was shot at in Athens on Tuesday morning.The police van was moving when a shot was heard. The bullet was found later lodged near the vehicle's engine. The lives of the police officers were not endagered. [04] Partnership transformation of OSEThe Interministerial Privatisation Committee has formally approved the partnership transformation of the Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE), in the framework of the Greek Railways Reconstruction programme with the aim, according to an announcement by the transport and communications ministry, to have a more flexible and effective formation.According to the Committee's decision OSE, which currently has four subsidiaries (TRAINOSE, ERGOSE, GAIAOSE and EDISY) will only have one, ERGOSE. TRAINOSE will become an independent company based on the provisions of EU law on the separation of infrastructure and operation. EDISY will be absorbed by OSE and GAIAOSE by ERGOSE. [05] Athens Stock Exchange: RiseAthens Stock Exchange: RiseEquity prices were rising on Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 1.11 percent, standing at 1,730.79 points at 12:25 p.m., and turnover at 25.5 million euros. Individual sector indices were moving mostly upward, with the biggest gains in Media, up 3.69 percent; Banks, up 2.47 percent; and Raw Materials, up 1.40 percent. The biggest losses were in Insurance, down 3.98 percent; Health, 2.02 percent; and Constructions, down 0.83 percent. The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 1.51 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.46 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.44 percent. Of the stocks moved, 105 were up, 55 were down, and 41 were unchanged.
