    The developments in the international and Greek economy and the operation of the credit system were discussed on Monday during a meeting between national economy and finance minister George Alogoskoufis and central bank governor Nick Garganas.

    The two men also discussed progress in the incorporation of EU Directives into the Greek credit system.

    Replying to questions after the meeting regarding the expiry of Garganas' term at the helm of the Bank of Greece in the summer of 2008, Alogoskoufis said that the cooperation with Garganas is "cloudless".

    [02] Aegean: traffic up 18pct

    Aegean Airlines says passenger traffic up 18 pct in 2007

    Aegean Airlines on Monday said passenger traffic exceeded 5.0 million in 2007 and noted it was continuing its fleet renewable investment program.

    The Greek-listed carrier said it carried 5,226,163 passengers in its 54,685 scheduled flights, an increase of 18 percent compared with 2006, while average passenger number per filght rose to 96 passengers from 93 in 2006.

    Aegean Airlines noted it has raised its share in total passenger traffic among the 65 airlines operating in the Athens International Airport to 25 percent.

    The airline said domestic traffic totaled 3,355,962 passengers last year, up 10 pct from the previous year, while international traffic totaled 1,870,201 passengers, up 35 percent.
