[01] Second Siemens jailing

Stavrianos faces felony charges of bribery and money laundering.

The decision was the second incarceration pending trial in the case, following former Siemens Hellas general director Prodromos Mavridis, who faces the same charges.

Stavrianos reportedly tendered a lengthy deposition to examining magistrate Nikos Zagorianos.

[02] ASE: Small rise

Individual sector indices were moving mostly upward, with the biggest gains in Food and Beverages, up 2.40 percent; Public Utilities, up 2.06 percent; and Technology, up 1.50 percent.

The biggest losses were in Media, down 1.19 percent; Constructions, down 0.17 percent; and Commerce, up 0.06 percent.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.61 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.76 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.46 percent.

Of the stocks moved, 83 were up, 33 were down, and 10 were unchanged.
