    The leaders of the five main political parties vying in the June 7 European Parliament elections in Greece will battle it out on Thursday evening in a live debate on state television, to be coordinated by journalist Maria Houkli, that begins at 8:00 p.m.

    Questions will be posed by journalists Olga Tremi from Mega tv channel, Nikos Evangelatos from Antenna, Andreas Constantatos from Alter, Antonis Sroiter from Alpha, Emilios Liatsos from Star, and Sia Kossioni from SKAI.

    Prime minister and ruling New Democracy (ND) party leader Costas Karamanlis, main opposition PASOK leader George Papandreou, Communist Party of Greece (KKE) secretary general Aleka Papariga, Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) parliamentary alliance leader Alekos Alavanos, and Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) leader George Karatzaferis will be called on to state their positions on six thematical categories of questions: the European Union and Foreign Policy, the Economy and Development, Social Policy and labor issues, Education, the Environment, and Government and Public Administration.

    Each question must be stated in 30 seconds, while each political leader will have 90 seconds in which to reply.
