  • [01] Summer holidaymakers

The main bulk of Athenians departed on the weekend for their summer vacations, as well as residents from most urban centers throughout the country.

The annual mass summer exodus brought droves of holidaymakers to airports and ports, with the Greek islands the most favored destinations.

Traffic was also heavy along the national highways, with traffic police taking extraordinary measures to facilitate the travelers.

The hot weather on the weekend was eased by northerly winds, making travel enjoyable for the holidamakers.
