    (ANA-MPA) -- Eurobank EFG Securities topped the list of the most busiest securities firms in the Greek capital market in September, accounting for 17.53 pct of total turnover in the market, official figures showed on Friday.

    Eurobank was followed by Investment Bank (14.88 pct), National-P&K (11.69 pct), Piraeus Securities (7.88 pct), Alpha Finance (6.42 pct), Euroxx (4.75 pct), Chevreux (3.98 pct), HSBC (3.72 pct) and UBS (3.19 pct).

    Eurobank EFG Securities topped the list also for the nine-month period from January to September, with a 15.36 pct market share, followed by Investment Bank (15.11 pct), and National-P&K (12.37 pct).

    [02] Stocks end 2.06 pct lower

    Greek stocks ended the last session before Sundayâs general elections with sharp losses as investors took profits after Septemberâs rally in the Athens Stock Exchange. The composite index fell 2.06 pct to end at 2,593.43 points, with turnover a moderate 252.8 million euros, of which 28.6 million euros were block trades.

    Most sectors moved lower, with the Banks (3.65 pct), Chemicals (2.46 pct) and Utilities (2.0 pct) suffering the heaviest percentage losses of the day, while Media (4.38 pct), Travel (1.06 pct) and Raw Materials (0.91 pct) scoring gains.

    The FTSE 20 index dropped 2.49 pct, the FTSE 40 index ended 1.15 pct lower and the FTSE 80 index fell 1.45 pct. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 148 to 68 with another 46 issues unchanged.
