[01] Trade deficit down 43.7% in Jan-Aug
(ANA-MPA) -- Greeceâs trade deficit totaled 1.706 billion euros in
August, significantly down from 3.139 billion euros in the
corresponding month last year, a decline of 45.6 percent, the National
Statistical Service said on Monday.
The statistics service, in a report, said the countryâs trade deficit
fell 43.7 pct in the eight-month period from January to August 2009 to
16.277 billion euros, down from 28.903 billion euros in the same period
in 2008.
