[01] ASE opening: Rise
Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Tuesday on the
Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 1.41
percent, standing at 2,539.64 points at 10:55 a.m., and turnover at
65.4 million euros.
Individual sector indices were moving mostly upward, with the biggest
gains in Banks, up 2.79 percent; Media, up 2.14 percent and Raw
Materials, up 2.10 percent.
The biggest losses were in Food and Beverages, down 0.49 percent;
Telecommunications, down 0.55 percent and Public Utilities, down 0.15
percent.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up
1.84 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.68 percent, and the
FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.67 percent.
Of the stocks moved, 79 were up, 34 were down, and 28 were unchanged.
