[01] No ANA-MPA services on Thursday, March 11, due to 24-hour strike
The Athens News Agency (ANA-MPA) is obliged to discontinue
transmissions and the dissemination of all news and information for all
its services between 6 a.m. (04:00 GMT) Thursday and 6 a.m. on Friday
(24 hours) due to a strike called by the Athens Journalists' Union
(ESIEA) for March 11, 2010.
Additionally, the news items featured on the ANA-MPA's website will not
be renewed for the duration of the strike.
All ANA services and transmissions will resume normally beginning at 6
a.m. on Friday, March 12.

[02] Stocks jump 2.62% on Wed.
Stocks ended sharply higher at the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday,
pushing the composite index of the market above the 2,100 level for the
first time in two months. The index rose 2.62 pct to end at 2,139.80
points, with turnover rising to 242.838 million euros.
The FTSE 20 index jumped 3.14 pct, the FTSE 40 index ended 1.75 pct and
the FTSE 80 index rose 2.79 pct. The Raw Materials (4.52 pct),
Industrial Products (4.36 pct) and Banks (3.97 pct) scored the biggest
percentage gains of the day.
Imperio (19.05 pct), Centric (13.24 pct), Akritas (9.80 pct) and Marfin
Egnatia (9.40 pct) were top gainers, while Klonatex (14.29 pct),
Cardico (10 pct), Praxitelio (9.76 pct) and Eurobrokers (9.48 pct) were
top losers. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 153 to 42 with another
41 issues unchanged.
