[01] ASE opening: Decline
Equity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Monday on the
Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 1.61
percent, standing at 2,016.44 points at 11:15 a.m., and turnover at
12.208 million euros.
Individual sector indices were moving mostly downward, with the biggest
gains in Mass Media, up 1.75 percent; and Insurance, up 1.69 percent.
The biggest losses were in Construction, down 2.06 percent; and Food
and Beverages, down 2.05 percent.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down
1.82 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.24 percent, and the
FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.08 percent.
Of the stocks moved, 18 were up, 39 were down, and 31 were unchanged.
