[01] Greek PPI up 6.7pct in February
Greece's Producer's Price Index (PPI) in the industrial sector
(measuring both the domestic and external markets) rose 6.7 pct in
February this year, compared with the same month in 2008, after a
decline of 5.8 pct recorded in February 2009, the Hellenic Statistical
Authority said on Monday.
The statistics agency, in a report, attributed the 6.7 pct rise in the
index to a 6.2 pct increase in the domestic market index and an 8.7 pct
rise in the external market index.
The producer's price index rose 0.3 pct in February from January 2010.
[02] Greek trade deficit down 25.3 pct in Jan
The value of import-arrivals in Greece fell 18.2 pct to 2.867 billion
euros in January this year, from 3.5 billion euros in the corresponding
month in 2009, the Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday.
The statistics agency, in a report, also said the value of
export-deliveries rose 0.9 pct to 960 million euros from 951.6 million
euros last year.
The country's trade deficit fell 25.3 pct in January to 1.907 billion
euros, from 2.553 billion euros in January 2009.
The figures cover only merchandise trade transactions (excluding
services).
