Individual sector indices were moving mostly upward, with the biggest gains in Food and Beverages, up 2.58 percent; and Banks, up 1.61 percent.

The biggest losses were in Health, down 3.26 percent; and Oil, down 0.65 percent.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 1.01 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.12 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.50 percent.

Of the stocks traded, 66 were up, 21 were down, and 17 were unchanged.
