[01] No cars in downtown Thessaloniki on Sat.
(ANA-MPA) -- A pilot programme in the northern border city of
Thessaloniki witnessed only city transit buses on the main
thoroughfares of the metropolis' centre, part of an initiative by the
merchants' association to promote pedestrian ways in the congested
city.
The measure was implemented between noon and 7 p.m.
Local residents took advantage of the measures by strolling on the
city's vehicle-free streets.
