(ANA-MPA) -- Greeceās state budget deficit shrank by 28.4 pct in the January-April period to 7.7 billion euros, from 10.7 billion in the same period last year, the Bank of Greece announced on Monday.

The central bank, in a report, said the improved budget deficit figures reflected a 5.0 pct rise in budget revenues and a 10.5 pct drop in spending in the four-month period. Budget revenues totaled 15 billion euros in the January-April period, up from 14.3 billion euros last year, while spending eased to 19.6 billion euros from 21.9 billion euros in 2009. (ANA-MPA)
