[01] ASE opening: Decline
Equity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Monday on the
Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down
0.28 percent, standing at 1,545.53 points at 12:00 a.m, and turnover
at 17.609 million euros.
Individual sector indices were mixed, with the biggest gains in
Industrial Products, up 1.48 percent; Food and Beverages, up 0.91
percent and Telecoms, up 0.88 percent.
The biggest losses were in Media, down 4.54 percent; and Personal and
Household Goods, down 1.21 percent.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down
0.52 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.08 percent, and the
FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 0.42 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 34 were up, 56 were down, and 21 were unchanged.
