  • [01] Three PPC employees injured in labour accident

    ANA-MPA/Three people were injured at an explosion on Tuesday at a Public Power Corporation substation in the eastern Attica coastal town of Lavrio.

    According to police's initial estimations, a machine's installation exploded, spewing off metal shards that injured the three employees in the eyes.

    The three men were rushed to a nearby hospital for first aid treatment.

    [02] ASE opening: Marginal decline

    Equity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 0.08 percent, standing at 1,498.24 points at 11:15 am, and turnover at 8.166 million euros.

    Individual sector indices were mixed, with the biggest gains in Food and Beverages, up 0.56 percent; and Technology, up 0.50 percent.

    The biggest losses were in Media, down 2.28 percent, and Health, down 1.91 percent.

    The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down 0.23 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.04 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 0.55 percent.

    Of the stocks traded, 21 were up, 29 were down, and 24 were unchanged.
