[01] Farmers' groups again threaten mobilisations(ÁÍÁ-ÌPA) -- Farmers' groups, mostly in the northern Greece provinces of Macedonia and Thrace, but also in agriculture-dependent Thessal, on Monday appeared ready to block major highway intersections, practically an "annual rite" that materialises in late January and February -- the least intensive period in the east Mediterranean country's agricultural sector.The most ominous threat is related to the blocking of a major border crossing with Bulgaria (Promachonas), with dissatisfied farmers there joined by unpaid employees of a northern Greece textile mill. Farmers' groups this year are mostly demanding tax-free petrol for all agricultural uses and swifter payment of crop damages, particularly cotton. Past protests have involved the stationing of large farm equipment on roadways. The exhibition will run until 28th February More details on the subscriber's page of ANA-MPA | Subscription request form  [03] ASE opening: DeclineEquity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Monday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 0.75 percent, standing at 1,649.20 points at 11:30 am, and turnover at 30.925 million euros.Individual sector indices were moving mostly downward, with the biggest gains in Mass Media, up 2.43 percent; Commerce, up 1.83 percent; and Chemicals, up 1.82 percent. The biggest losses were in Banks, down 1.89 percent; and Travel & Recreation, down 1.28 percent. The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down 1.35 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.45 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 0.47 percent. Of the stocks traded, 30 were up, 52 were down, and 17 were unchanged.
