[01] Strike at General Accounting OfficeStaff at Greece's General Accounting Office have announced a four-day strike beginning on Tuesday, in opposition to the removal of authority over certain functions from GAO services and cuts to their fund finances. A meeting with Deputy Finance Minister Philippos Sahinidis is pending, however, to discuss their demands.The four-day strike, if it takes place, is expected to block payment of Easter benefits to pensioners and public-sector staff, as well as payment of public-sector salaries since there will be no one to sign payment orders to banks. (ANA-MPA)More details on the subscriber's page of ANA-MPA | Subscription request form  [03] Ruling party submits proposal for Parliamentary probe into submarine caseThe ruling PASOK Parliamentary group will submit a proposal to set up a preliminary examination committee to investigate money-laundering allegations included in the case file of sub-standard German-made submarines purchased by the Hellenic Navy when Akis Tsohatzopoulos was minister of defence, it was announced on Monday.The decision was reached after studying the relevant case file forwarded to Parliament by the prosecutor's office. The process to be followed will ensure quickly and effectively that those responsible will be brought to justice, according to a statement issued by the PASOK parliamentary group. The proposal will be submitted within the next few days followed by a parliamentary vote after the Easter holidays. All other aspects of the submarine case have already been discussed extensively in the Special Standing Committee on Armament Programs and Contracts. Afterwards, he attended a luncheon given in his honor at Timios Prodromos Monastery hosted by Metropolitan Makarios of Sidirokastro. Tourist arrivals from Israel last year increased by 57 percent compared with 2009, while arrivals in January rose by 18 percent and in February by 33 percent.
