[01] ASE opening: Decline
Equity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Monday on the
Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 0.74
percent, standing at 1,458.22 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at
11.655 million euros.
Individual sector indices were moving mostly downward, with the biggest
gains in Health, up 1.27 percent; Technology, up 0.79 percent; and
Travel & Recreation, up 0.59 percent.
The biggest losses were in Raw Materials, down 1.65 percent; and Banks,
down 1.56 percent.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down
1.11 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.90 percent, and the
FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 0.66 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 12 were up, 44 were down, and 15 were unchanged.
