[01] One-day con'f to focus on boosting regional business, cross-border cooperation

The same conference -- entitled "Building Powerful Influence: The New Face of Regional Business -- will take place in Belgrade two days later on Friday.

Presentations and discussions will touch on the issues of global leadership, international negotiations and conflict resolution, regional business development, strategic cross-border communications, international-regional relations, so-called "glocalisation" and entrepreneurship.

Speakers include Alex Rondos, a noted former Greek ambassador at large, and current international foreign relations adviser; Michael Landers, a global business consultant; Oleh R Kaarmik, a global negotiator and mediator; Dimitris Keridis, a professor of regional studies and Balkan expert; Elena Panaritis, an economist and author of the book "Prosperity Unbound; Annette Rondos, a cross-cultural and corporate communications trainer; and Elisabeth Morris-Maragoula, an international strategic communications consultant. [02] International Museum Day on Wednesday

International Museum Day was established by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 1977. This year's theme is "Museum and Memory" and highlights the role of museums in preserving mankind's collective and cultural memories.ana-mpa

The central event celebrating the anniversary in Greece this year will be held at the Museum of Asia Minor Hellenism 'Filio Haidemenou' that is devoted to relics of the Greek refugees that came from Asia Minor during the exchange of populations in the early 1920s.

[03] Eurogroup: Speed up reforms

Rehn said a "very good discussion" took place on the extension of the repayment period for Greece's 110 billion euros EU-IMF bailout loan to Greece.ana-mpa

Noting that Greece had achieved in 2010 an unprecedented reduction of its fiscal deficit, he said that an assessment report by the 'troika' (European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund) on the implementation of the Memorandum in Greece was awaited, adding that some gaps have been ascertained in the assessment so far both with achievement of the fiscal targets and the privatisations program.

Juncker, in turn, said he was satisfied with Greece's clear-cut commitments on the implementation of new extraordinary measures to attain the fiscal targets for 2011. "If Greece succeeds in meeting the fiscal targets for 2011, if it speeds up the privatisations program and if there is political consensus, things may not be easy, but they will be feasible," he said.

[04] ASE opening: Rise

Individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest gains in Insurance, up 3.50 percent; Technology, up 1.13 percent and Personal and Household Goods, up 1.12 percent.

The biggest losses were in Food and Beverages, down 1.21 percent and Commerce, down 0.41 percent.

The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.47 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.28 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.22 percent.

Of the stocks traded, 38 were up, 16 were down, and 22 were unchanged.
