[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Decline
E quity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Monday on the
Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 0.50
percent, standing at 1,056.64 points at 11:15 am, and turnover at 14.470
million euros.
Individual sector indices
The biggest losses were in Personal and Household Goods, down 2.88
percent; Public Utilities, down 2.09 percent; and Health, down 1.37
percent. were moving mostly downward, with the biggest gains in
Insurance, up 6.67 percent; and Food and Beverage, up 1.09 percent.
The FTSE/A SE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down
0.42 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.85 percent, and the
FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 1.15 percent.
O f the stocks traded, 20 were up, 45 were down, and 15 were unchanged.
