[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rise
AMNA--Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Tuesday on
the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up
1.11 percent, standing at 693.59 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at
2.72 million euros.
Individual sector indices were moving mostly upward, with the biggest
gains in Banks, up 2.79 percent; Chemicals, up 2.37 percent and Food
and Beverages, up 2.24 percent.
The only losses were in Technology, down 0.81 percent.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up
1.27 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.84 percent,and the
FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.84 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 37 were up, 4 were down and 11 were unchanged
