[01] Kouvelis reiterates: Gov't without leftist rival impossible
AMNA--"Without (leftist) SYRIZA's participation a (new Greek) government
cannot be formed," Democratic Alliance party leader Fotis Kouvelis said
Friday, in an address to members of his newly elected Parliamentary
group.
Kouvelis reiterated his proposal for a coalition government that will
keep the country in the eurozone but with a gradual disengagement from the
Memorandum (bailout terms). "This government will remain until 2014."amna
He also said his party should be ready for new elections, adding that
DI.MAR will not participate in a New Democracy and PASOK coalition
government, and if a change in SYRIZA's position does not occur then
"we will be led to elections".amna
Moreover, he charged that SYRIZA was given a mandate to form a government
and merely used it as a "campaign tool ... It is obvious that SYRIZA
wants elections," he said.amna
Concluding, he said a third way exists, namely, the Euro-Left, "the road
of the forces of democratic socialism, DI.MAR's way ... we call on all
citizens to rally around us ..."
