[01] SYRIZA econ platform unveiled: We will annul Memorandum
AMNA--Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) leader unveiled his party's
economic platform on Friday, pledging a clampdown on tax evasion, and
annulment of the Memorandum and its accompanying application laws,
to be replaced by a National Recovery Plan for economic and social
development, the productive restructuring of the country and a just
fiscal streamlining.
"The only quandary in the June 17 elections is encapsulated in the
disjunction: Memorandum or SYRIZA," Tsipras said, noting: "You either
implement or annul the Memorandum. New Democracy and PASOK do not want
to annul it, but to implement it. We will annul it."
Tsipras called SYRIZA's economic platform a "programme of dignity and
hope for the people and the country, a thorough, integrated and specific,
step-by-step, contemporary policy plan of the Left".
He said the first action by the government of the Left, as soon as the
new parliament is formed into a body, will be to annul the Memorandum
and its application laws, which will be replaced by "a National Recovery
Plan for economic and social development, the productive restructuring
(of the country) and a just fiscal streamlining that we have drafted".
