[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rise
AMNA--Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Monday on
the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up
2.73 percent, standing at 506.12 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at
6.695 million euros.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up
2.80 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 1.63 percent.
All individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest
gains in Banks, up 6.54 percent; Commerce, up 3.36 percent and Telecoms,
up 3.08 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 46 were up, 3 were down, and 7 were unchanged.
