[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Decline
Equity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Friday on the
Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 0.65
percent, standing at 546.50 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at 14.535
million euros.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down
0.98 percent, while the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.77 percent.
Individual sector indices were moving mostly downward, with the biggest
gains in Health, up 6.90 percent; Personal and Household Goods, up 3.33
percent and Raw Materials, up 2.00 percent.
The biggest losses were in Food and Beverages, down 1.66 percent and
Constructions, down 1.14 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 31 were up, 20 were down, and 5 were unchanged.
