[01] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rise
Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Wednesday on the
Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 0.44
percent, standing at 622.78 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at 4.355
million euros.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up
0.15 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.11 percent.
Individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest gains in
Raw Materials, up 1.09 percent and Telecoms, up 0.50 percent.
The heaviest losses were in Banks, down 2.26 percent and Public Utilities,
down 0.85 percent.
Of the stocks traded, 25 were up, 19 were down, and 8 were unchanged.
