AMNA--Main opposition SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras will visit USA from
22-25 January. Tsipras who will be heading a SYRIZA delegation will
visit Washington and New York in order to participate in a series of
open events organised by Brookings Instituition and Columbia University
in cooperation with Levy Institute.
Moreover, Tsipras will also have a series of meetings with academics
and politicians.
[02] Budget revenues up in first three weeks of January
AMNA--A reduction in heating oil consumption not only reduced state
revenues but a 20 pct increase in budget revenues was recorded in the
first 20 days of January, compared with the same period last year,
Finance Alternate Minister Christos Staikouras said on Monday.
Speaking in parliament, the minister said that revenues from heating
oil sales totaled 44.5 million euros in the first 20 days of January,
up from 37.1 million euros in January 2012, reflecting a sharp increase
in a special fuel consumption tax, as heating oil sales plunged more
than 80 pct in the same period. amna
Revenues from heating oil totaled 38.9 million euros in the first 20
days of January, down 30 pct from the same period last year. Staikouras
said a government plan to equating heating and diesel oil taxes resulted
to only a small deviation from budget targets. "We set a goal of 1.34
billion euros and we collected 1.266 billion euros," he said.
[03] Henkel Hellas returns to Greek production
AMNA--Henkel Hellas will reintroduce production in Greece, in cooperation
with Rolco Vianyl company, according to a press conference at a central
Athens hotel on Tuesday.
Henkel Hellas will be producing detergents and other cleaning products
for the local market. It will include 50 product codes - related to
the Dixan, Neomat and Bref labels - that currently cover 75 pct of the
total turnover in home detergents and cleaning products in the Greek and
Cypriot markets (by 7 million and 2.5 million items, respectively). amna
The company plans to increase its present production by 20 pct, by
reintroducing its super-concentrated detergents and softeners, as well
as industrial cleaners.
