[01] Opinion poll sees ND lead over SYRIZA
ANA/MPA--New Democracy (ND) leads by 1.8 percent over main opposition
SYRIZA, according to an opinion poll conducted by GPO for private
television "Mega".
According to the poll results, ND was leading with 21.3 percent, followed
by SYRIZA with 19.5 percent, ultra-right Golden Dawn (Chryssi Avghi)
with 10.1 percent, PASOK with 6.7 percent, Independent Greeks with
6.4 percent, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) with 5.8 percent and
Democratic Left (DIMAR) with 5.1 percent and ANTARSYA with 1.8 percent.
In response to who would be most suitable for prime minister, current
Prime Minister Antonis Samaras (and ND leader) was preferred by 46.3
percent of the respondents, followed by SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras
with 29.3percent, while 25 percent said neither of the two.
The geographic coverage of the opinion poll was nationwide and was
conducted between 24 and 25 May 2013.
